WAIKIKI BEACH, OAHU, HAWAII — The Sheraton Hotels & Resorts in Waikiki offers its hotel guests an exclusive opportunity to meet and physically interact with some of nature’s most amazing creatures, Atlantic and Pacific bottlenose dolphins. The “Dolphin Connection by Sheraton” program was created in partnership with Sea Life Park by Dolphin Discovery, Hawaii’s world-class marine center. From learning about the dolphin’s dietary requirements, intelligent behavior and communication, touching their smooth skin and interacting with these extraordinary ocean mammals, the program promises to delight adults and children alike with both a memorable and educational experience.
A curious penguin greets and socializes with hotel guests arriving at Makapu`u Point where Sea Life Park is located, just 15 scenic miles from Waikiki. After enjoying a fresh fruit cup and short educational video briefing, guests enter the water to feed and interact with the dolphins, and possibly even Hawaii’s only wolphin — a rare cross between an false killer whale and dolphin. Guests will spend approximately 30 minutes interacting with the dolphins, assisting the trainer with commands, and observing the animals underwater with masks before receiving a farewell kiss from their new ocean friend. Park photographers capture this memorable moment and offer guests the opportunity to purchase prints.
Once finished drying off with their specially designed Dolphin Connection towel amenity, guests are free to explore Sea Life Park’s various other shows and attractions. They may do so independently, or with the expert guidance of the Sheraton group’s own knowledgeable customer service representative.
The Dolphin Connection by Sheraton program is exclusive for guests staying at one of the Sheraton Hotels & Resorts in Waikiki. Guests of the Sheraton Waikiki, the Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort, and Sheraton Princess Kaiulani can visit the Tour and Activity desk located in the hotel lobby to get more information or make reservations. Guests of the Royal Hawaiian can visit the hotel concierge. The program is priced at $170.78 per adult and $150.99 per child ages 4-12. A paying adult must accompany each child under 8 years of age. Children ages 3 and under are free with an accompanying paying adult (one child per each paying adult).
